LABORATORY ASSISTANT/LAB. Tests, repairs, calibrates and maintains equipment and various apparatus for conformance to established standards. Installs and sets-up related technical equipment. Job Description:

This position is to support Purification operations in assigned suite.
Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. In addition, candidate may work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature, where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.
Will perform operator duties in assigned area within the production facility to produce bulk drug substance. Trained on all operations in Capture and purification. Complies with safety requirements, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures.
Coordinates the cleaning, assembly and preparation of equipment according to written instructions.
Operates equipment including bioreactors, filtration and, chromatography equipment, washers and autoclaves.
Coordinates the set-up and sterilization of components and process equipment • Monitors and adjusts equipment operation
Coordinates process sampling and routine measurements
Ensures that data is recorded, activities logged, and processes monitored appropriately.
Interfaces with automated production systems and controls.
Assists in the review of batch records for completeness and accuracy.
May author or revise standard operating procedures.
Takes an active role in the start up and validation of new equipment or new suites.
General Production activities include:  operating washers and sterilizers, performing CIP and SIP for portable tanks, assembling and preparation of tanks, autoclaving solutions, gathering, processing and delivering glassware, cleaning, setting up and maintaining seed and production bioreactors, inoculating and maintaining spinner seed cultures using aseptic techniques, maintaining cell banks and performing general seed lab operations, cleaning, sterilizing and operating fixed vessel systems for media preparation, cell culture, fermentation and harvest operations, clean fixed tank and filtration systems, and operate large scale column chromatography and filtration systems.
