I. POSITION SUMMARY The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for
specimen processing, test performance, test result reporting, and clerical and
patient care support services. The CLS provides service in one or more sections
of the laboratory with a high level of accuracy, precision and timelines and
ensures compliance with departmental and regulatory agency standards. Service is
provided to patients of all age groups: premature infants, infants, pediatrics,
adolescents, young, middle and older adults. Non-technical duties include taking
supply inventories, stocking supplies, cleaning and maintaining work area,
equipment and instrumentation. The CLS provides service in a safe and
professional manner and works within the established policies and procedures of
the Laboratory and the Organization. MINIMUM SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
REQUIRED A. Require: 1. State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist
license. 2. Must meet CLIA requirements for testing personnel, moderate to high
complexity tests. 3. Experience in a clinical laboratory in area of
responsibility. 4. Clear communication in English, both orally and in writing.
5. Must meet the physical requirements of this job listed on the RU-91 form for
laboratory Technician. B. Prefer: 1. ASCP or equivalent certification 2. Ability

We are currently looking for Temporary Clinical Research Assistants to work in our Phase I Research clinic in Tempe, AZ. The temp assignment is expected to last a minimum of 3-6 months and can be extended, as needed, on a long-term basis.
The successful candidate will monitor activities of study participants, handle human biological samples and record data. Responsibilities also include taking vital signs, performing EKGs, phlebotomy, height/weight, and monitoring meals. We are seeking employee’s who can commit to a minimum of 16 hours a week and 4 weekend shifts per month. Positions are available from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm or 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm. Medical experience is helpful, but not required; we provide paid training!! Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.

Following procedures established by the Section Heads, laboratory management and the pathologist directors, a Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs a variety of laboratory tests in many areas of the laboratory, including High Complexity Tests as defined by CLIA. A CLS is responsible for accuracy and reporting of results of application of principles, theories and techniques, professional judgment, computer proficiency, microscopic proficiency, and good communications skills.
