Job Description:
·         The Lead Research Associate will be involved in all aspects of research, development and qualification for manufacturing as it pertains to the sensor development area. Required Skills/Experience:

·         Recent hands on lab experience.  
·         Prior experience with biosensor development and/or polymer chemistry and/or electrochemical devices is ideal.
·           Demonstrated knowledge of advanced analytical instrumentation such as UV Spectroscopy, FTIR, cyclic voltammetry, potentiostatic test equipment, viscosity measurement, and imaging microscopy is a plus.
·         A working knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and analytical tools such as precision balances, microliter pipettes and basic laboratory practices such as GLP/GMP and chemical handling,
·         A working knowledge of basic laboratory practices
·         Performance of tasks includes manipulation of small, delicate parts often in a controlled environment glove box, requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
·         Applicant must be proficient with computer applications including excel and experience with common statistical software packages such as Minitab.

A world-renowned Water Quality and Analytical testing equipment company, located in Northern Colorado, is seeking an Analytical R&D Chemist, experienced in spectroscopy, to join their team. This is a direct placement opportunity. Salary begins at $75K and is commensurate upon experience. Global travel will total a combined 4 weeks/year.

You will be responsible for the application of advanced knowledge of chemistry principles towards the development of chemical products and product applications within the Product Realization Group.

Working with little supervision and guidance, you will be heavily involved in the design and test of Optical Spectroscopic and Electroanalytical techniques, pure reagent synthesis, dry and liquid mixture formulation and product performance testing. Youwill also be very involved in the development of CFD systems, processes and procedures.

During the initial project scope and definition you are highly involved in market research and product definition with the intent to provide the technical prospective.

Must be experienced working within ISO 9001 guidelines and local, state and federal EPA regulatory requirements.

Mentoring and guiding junior chemists or scientists is also expected, as is the leadership of cross-functional teams.

Other Key Responsibilities:
Shows teaching level experience with methods for gathering and interpreting customer VOC. Monitors technical and competitive trends in the field. Investigates technical concepts and market needs then defines product requirements for new analytical products.
Uses expert technical knowledge to develop new applications for existing products to expand market and product base. Exhibits solid practical experience while working closely with marketing in commercialization of new product or application launches.
Writes chemical analysis procedures for incorporation into methods manuals. Supports efforts to write and/or edit product manuals and procedures

Background and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or degree in related field with minimum of 12 years of directly relevant experience or an MS with 10 years of directly relevant experience or Ph.D. with 5 years of experience.
